Something taste funny? Ever wondered about that apple your eating, where it came from? What’s in it?

Keeping it local
Britain was once famous for its apples but because of competition from abroad we have lost more than half our native orchards in the last thirty years. Apples are now flown from around the world at a huge cost to the environment. For example the fuel used to fly a bottle of New Zealand wine to the UK is equal to boiling a kettle 268 times. So buy local when you can.

Better still you if you grew your own food you would know exactly where it came from and how it had been treated. Visit You Are Here and find out more about community gardening projects and allotments in the Manchester area.
